Pakistan international airline is the national carriers airline of Pakistan which was founded as Orient Airways initially based in Calcutta, India. After the formation of the newly independent state of Pakistan in 1947, the operations shifted to Karachi's Jinnah International Airport which now serves as the main hub. Pakistan International airline was the first non-Communist Airline to fly to China and the second Asian airline to acquire the jet craft. History
Pakistan international airlines came into existence following the end of the British Raj and the partition of India, which led the country's founder Muhammad Ali Jinnah the need for Flag carrier for the prospective country of Pakistan. On August 14, 1947, Pakistan gained independence and started with operations for the new country. It was the first and only Muslim owned airline in the British Raj. With initial operations between West and East Pakistan. Class of Travel
Pakistan international airlines offers two classes of travel.

Baggage allowance
Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) provides a range of baggage services for Economy and Economy Executive Class Passengers. Your baggage allowance may vary depending on yourdestination, the fare purchased, and your travel class. PIA employs two main systems for determining baggage allowance:

1. Weight Concept: This system is based on the total weight of your luggage and is commonly used for most routes across the network.
2. Piece Concept: This system is based on the number of pieces of luggage allowed and is specifically used for flights to and from the Americas.
Under both concepts, your free baggage allowance will be influenced by your route, fare type, and travel class.

Weight Concept:
For Economy Class passengers, the free baggage allowance is typically 30 KG or below, which equals one piece. Above 30 KG, passengers are entitled to two pieces.

Hand Carry:

• Economy Class: Passengers are allowed a maximum of 7 KG for hand carry, with dimensions not exceeding 38L, 22W, and 55H cm, totalling 115 cm on both domestic and international flights.
  
• Executive Economy Class: Passengers may carry up to 12 KG as hand carry, consisting of one piece weighing 7 KG (with dimensions not exceeding 38L, 22W, and 55H cm, totalling 115 cm) and one small briefcase weighing 5 KG, on both domestic and international flights.
